Tailgate Niner Goggle Case and Gondom Goggle Protector
We were at the Outdoor Retailer show in Sale Lake City and saw a great little company filling a simple problem that most backcountry bros are faced with. During the ascent, wearing your goggles can be a big no no, it’s the start of a foggy day if you do. So we are forced to […]

If you are looking for a low profile solution to keeping your google scratch free these are a great option from a home grown company located in Bend, Oregon.
The Niner Goggle Case
The Niner is made of hard hdpe plastic (Think 5 gallon buck) to add a ridged protective barier. The inside is lined with a soft fleece material to protect your optical investment. The back is a very easy to use spandura stretchy material that easily wraps around all sizes of goggles from the smallest kid goggles up to the large frameless designs. The overlapping fabric keeps snow out yet allows the goggles to breath.
Weighing in at only 3.2 oz and about 4 1/2 by 9 1/4

The only complaint we had is that we wish there were a way to stash an extra lens in the case easily and protected.
The Gondom Goggle Protetor
On a side note, if you have kids these are a goggle saver. Having seen the way kids treat goggles they are destroyed after a couple years use. These are great to throw on the kids goggle before they throw them in the back of the car or drop them on the ground. The open back design makes it great to keep them with the little ones helmet until they are ready to hit the slopes.
In addition to hanging with the groms, these covers offer nice protection if you are a “On the Helmet” goggle wearer. If you frequently wear your goggles on top of your helmet, often times you forget that they are there, or when you take your helmet off, they go dangling around, lens rubbing all over everything from picnic benches to trees and the occasional fall to the resort parking lot out of the back of the SUV. With goggles costing upwards of $200 do something to protect them.
Weighing in at only 0.8 oz and 5 by 9 inch
The Gondom fit all sizes of goggles, however they are a bit tight on large frames, and we had a little fear that over time they may damage the foam.
