Atlas 3 Piece LockJaw Adjustable Trekking Pole.
The Lock Jaw 3 Poles are at the top of the line for Atlas. They provide a stable platform for hiking both in the snow and on the trail. The lock jaw has two adjustable cams that hold the set length in place, an alow for easy adjustments even with gloves on. This allows for easy packing and adjustments on the fly.
We tested a pair of the Lock Jaw 3 poles and fell in love. The 3 piece design allows the poles to be totally collapsed into a small footprint. Or, adjust the poles all the way out (140 cm) for that technical climb. I even found myself adjusting one higher, and one lower when traversing up the mountain.
We also love the baskets that Atlas created. They are very strong, and function perfectly. The tips of these poles are very aggressive. They pierced any ice and snow we tried to put them through.
The straps are very comfortable, with a soft inner side. This is nice as I like to hike without gloves on warm days. Also, the adjustments are very easy as opposed to some tricky cinch style adjustments. These are built right into the handle.
The handle is hard plastic which makes it nice to pull up risers or slap them down.
Over all, these are a great pole for the price. Very light weight and durable on the hardware. Check out the latest info at http://atlassnowshoe.com
